Morocco’s tourism sector has experienced significant growth in early 2025, welcoming 4 million visitors by the end of March—a 22% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Key Highlights:

  • Record-Breaking January: January 2025 saw a historic high with 1.2 million tourists, marking a 27% increase from January 2024.

  • March Milestone: March alone attracted nearly 1.4 million visitors, including a 17% rise during Ramadan, showcasing Morocco’s appeal during cultural seasons.

  • Strategic Positioning: The surge is attributed to Morocco’s initiative to promote itself as a “four-season destination,” aiming to attract tourists year-round.

  • Diverse Tourist Base: Of the 4 million visitors, 2.1 million were international travelers, while 1.9 million were Moroccans residing abroad, highlighting the country’s global draw and strong diaspora connections.

With plans to host the 2030 FIFA World up alongside Spain and Portugal, Morocco aims to attract 17.5 million tourists by 2026 and 26 million by 2030. The government’s focus on sustainable tourism and infrastructure development is expected to further bolster the country’s position as a premier travel destination
